GEICO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the transformation of their insurance business and modernize platform engineering. The ideal candidate will work closely with Distinguished Engineers and Staff Engineers to innovate and enhance systems while identifying new opportunities. This role focuses on building high-performance, low maintenance platforms and applications that deliver exceptional customer experiences. The engineer will lead the technical roadmap and collaborate with various teams to solve complex problems.

• Advance knowledge of at least one modern OOP language, preferably Go.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly scalable and reliable systems in production.
• Strong Test-Driven Development practices.
• In-depth knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms.
• Understanding of security best practices.
• Familiarity with relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with No-SQL databases like Cassandra and MongoDB.
• Experience in architecting and building automation workflows.
• Strong understanding of service integrations and communication standards.
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD with Infrastructure as Code.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
