Amazon's Stores AppSec Team is looking for a Security Engineer to enhance security for its customers by identifying vulnerabilities in Amazon's services, applications, and websites. The role involves working closely with various teams within Information Security and providing technical leadership. Candidates will engage in high-quality application security reviews and penetration tests while navigating complex stakeholder engagements. A strong sense of customer obsession and the ability to make high-judgment decisions are essential for success in this position.

• 3+ years of programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++, or similar object-oriented languages.
• 2+ years of experience in scripting, programming, and security code review in a common programming language.
• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating tasks using command line tools.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or 2+ years of IT Security experience.
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with industry-based security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
• 2+ years of experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, software development, cryptography, system administration, or network security.
• Experience with AWS products and services.
• Experience performing security activities across various phases of the software development lifecycle.

• Conduct high-quality application security reviews and penetration tests independently or as part of a team.
• Create detailed engagement plans and document findings, gaps, and remediation recommendations.
• Contribute to team tooling, innovation, and improvements.
• Communicate and collaborate with partner teams, service owners, Information Security, and senior leadership to influence and drive the resolution of security findings.
