NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to enhance open-source software and developer tools for AI agents. The role involves building core libraries and evaluation systems to improve the safety and efficiency of AI agents. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to address optimization needs and contribute to the development of foundational technology for autonomous software systems. • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Math, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with demonstrated technical ownership of production systems.
• Expert Python skills and working proficiency in Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
• Experience building or extending LLM agents, coding agents, or evaluation infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous execution, subprocesses, containers, and distributed compute.
• A record of shipping and maintaining open-source or developer-facing software.

• Define and evolve the technical approach for evaluating and improving open agent harnesses.
• Build and operate scalable, reproducible evaluation systems across various environments.
• Diagnose agent failures from traces, logs, and benchmark artifacts.
• Design controlled experiments and promotion criteria to distinguish genuine harness improvements.
• Ship focused harness and runtime improvements, including upstream open-source contributions.
• Partner with various teams to turn recurring optimization needs into reusable capabilities.
