Job description
The Silicon Engineering Intern role at Google is designed for PhD students in their penultimate academic year, focusing on silicon engineering areas such as architecture, verification, and physical design. Interns will collaborate with engineers to influence the future of Google Cloud and AI infrastructure by working on custom hardware projects. This position requires English proficiency and is intended for candidates who can work full-time for 12 weeks during the summer. Interns will tackle complex problems at the intersection of hardware, software, and algorithms.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Project or coursework experience in silicon engineering areas such as architecture and RTL, verification and validation, or physical design.
- Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Python, Tcl, Perl, or C++.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers on projects impacting Google's custom silicon portfolio.
- Work on fundamental problems at the intersection of hardware, software, and algorithms.
- Engage in projects that may focus on AI accelerators or complex Systems-on-a-Chip.
