The Software Engineer for Agent Cloud Rate Limiting at Google will focus on developing technologies that manage non-deterministic AI agents and workloads. This role is part of a team that bridges traditional Cloud networking with new agentic ecosystems. Engineers will work on large-scale infrastructure and distributed systems, contributing to critical projects that evolve Google Cloud's capabilities. The position requires versatility and leadership qualities as engineers tackle new challenges across the full-stack.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields is preferred.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms is preferred.
• Experience programming in C or C++ is preferred.
• Experience in Generative AI is preferred.

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
