Job description

As a Sr. Torque Engineer, Metrology at Rivian, you will focus on implementing torque-specific requirements and providing technical support for torque-related equipment and processes. You will collaborate with various teams to enhance workflow and resolve torque tooling issues while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role requires a strong background in engineering and metrology, along with leadership skills to guide and support team members. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining high-quality torque performance and supporting new product launches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of metrology equipment for measuring dimensions and torque values.
  • Experience using VDI/ToolsNet8/TT2/QAS and different tooling software.
  • Experience programming Atlas Copco tools on an advanced level.
  • Leadership skills required.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Main support for troubleshooting tooling issues within different torque tool models.
  • Assist with line calls and line down issues related to torque tooling.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve internal torque requirements at a systems level.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and report on Key Process Indicators and Key Activities Indicators.
  • Collaborate with other areas to coordinate workflow and implement process improvements.
  • Lead teams to address and support torque-related issues using problem-solving methodologies.
  • Assist in creating torque-specific documentation related to standardized work and training material.
  • Support and participate in launch and line rebalance activities.
  • Train local teams to understand customer requirements.
