Pinterest is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Android Modernization team in Toronto. This role involves empowering Android developers to create modern app experiences while ensuring high productivity, performance, and quality. The manager will set the technical vision and roadmap in collaboration with cross-functional teams and drive platform modernization. The position requires strong leadership skills and a focus on using AI to enhance engineering workflows.

• 10+ years of experience in engineering, including 2+ years of experience in engineering management.
• Strong technical judgment in mobile Android engineering, including Kotlin, Compose, and modern architectures like MVVM.
• Experience partnering with Senior/Staff engineers to build impactful roadmaps.
• Experience building platform capabilities that enhance the productivity of product engineering teams.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience aligning priorities across teams.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in workflows.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Lead, coach, and grow a specialized team of Android engineers.
• Set the team’s technical vision and roadmap in partnership with Client Platforms and cross-functional product teams.
• Drive platform modernization to help product teams adopt modern client architectures.
• Improve client stability, health metrics, browser compatibility, and runtime frameworks.
• Establish clear operating rhythms for planning, sprints, risk management, and stakeholder updates.
• Hire, onboard, and develop engineers to create an inclusive, high-performing team.
• Use AI to accelerate engineering workflows while maintaining code quality and reliability.
