As a Specialist Solutions Architect - Data Engineering at Databricks, you will guide customers in building big data solutions using Databricks. This customer-facing role requires hands-on experience with Apache Spark and expertise in various data technologies. You will work closely with Solution Architects to ensure successful implementation of workloads while aligning technical roadmaps. Your role will also involve mentoring and continuous learning to establish expertise in areas such as streaming or performance tuning.

• 5+ years of experience in a technical role with expertise in software engineering or data engineering.
• Extensive experience building big data pipelines.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Production programming experience in SQL and Python, Scala, or Java.
• 2 years of professional experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
• 2 years of customer-facing experience in a pre-sales or post-sales role.

• Provide technical leadership to guide strategic customers to successful implementations on big data projects.
• Architect production level data pipelines, including performance testing and optimization.
• Become a technical expert in areas such as data lake technology or big data streaming.
• Assist Solution Architects with advanced aspects of technical sales, including custom proof of concept content.
• Provide tutorials and training to improve community adoption.
