Job description

As a Qualcomm CPU Engineer, you will lead innovative CPU design efforts that significantly impact various industries. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, verify, and implement multi-core CPU operations. This role requires a deep understanding of computer architecture and the ability to solve complex problems to ensure design completeness and performance. You will also be responsible for writing detailed technical documentation and providing supervision to direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years, or a PhD with 6+ years.
  • 14+ years of work experience with high-performance microprocessor design.
  • 14+ years of work experience with high-level programming languages such as C or C++ and scripting languages like Perl or Python.
  • 14+ years of experience with simulators and/or waveform debugging tools such as Verilog or VHDL.
  • 14+ years of experience with industry-standard tools for synthesis, place and/or route, and design verification.
  • 14+ years of experience in simulation, emulation, formal verification, or silicon validation.
  • 14+ years of experience in creating functional models, checkers, test plans, and/or test generation.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
  • 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage expert knowledge of computer architecture and design to develop and verify high-performance CPU designs.
  • Anticipate, identify, and solve complex problems to ensure design completeness and functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and trade-offs for product goals.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the design process from conceptualization to productization.
  • Write detailed technical documentation for complex CPU designs and review documentation of experienced engineers.
  • Provide supervision to direct reports and influence key organizational decisions.
