Job description
The Senior Mechanical Engineer role at AWS involves ownership and continuous improvement of data center liquid cooling infrastructure products. You will join a diverse team of engineers and specialists, collaborating to ensure safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost. The position requires hands-on mechanical and manufacturing experience in liquid cooling products and involves supporting AWS data centers globally. Requirements
- 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
- Professional Engineering or Architectural License
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
Responsibilities
- Possess strong engineering judgement and provide recommendations despite uncertainty
- Review, update, and approve equipment submittals
- Work with global liquid cooling equipment suppliers and manufacturers
- Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders
- Support Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support
- Listen to the voice of the customer to identify improvements for product reliability or availability
- Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to design product improvements
- Contribute to the global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement
