The Engineering Director will lead the development team at Citi Services - Global Trade and Working Capital Solutions Technology Organization, focusing on delivering data solutions that drive innovation and enhance customer experiences. This role requires a seasoned technologist with a strong background in data engineering, analytics, and AI engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing the technology roadmap for the Data & AI portfolio, ensuring alignment with business outcomes. Building strong relationships with senior partners and leading high-performing engineering teams will be key aspects of this position.

• 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and technology leadership
• 8-10+ years of direct managerial and people leadership experience
• Deep expertise in building Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and AI Engineering systems at scale
• Extensive experience with financial products and payment systems
• Expertise in Java, Microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native application development
• Experience with modern big data technologies and major cloud platforms
• Exposure to AI-assisted software development models and experience with ML and MLOps
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred

• Manage and develop multiple teams to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties.
• Develop a vision for the team around roles and responsibilities to ensure efficient resource use.
• Prepare and present regular team/project reviews to senior management and business leaders.
• Drive the design and development of system architecture and enhance the quality of deliverables.
• Monitor and manage budgeting, planning, and policy formation for the area.
• Ensure change is managed with appropriate controls and documentation.
• Research and resolve issues, providing recommendations to senior management.
• Manage and maintain disaster recovery plans and oversee appropriate testing.
• Define and implement best practices and processes for the department.
• Drive the definition and execution of data technology strategy and target state architecture.
• Design and oversee the development of robust data infrastructure on the cloud.
• Champion data engineering best practices across the organization.
• Partner with leadership to understand data needs and develop a long-term strategy.
• Stay updated on data engineering technologies and recommend new tools.
• Implement and enforce robust data governance, security, and privacy policies.
