The Apple User Privacy Team is seeking an experienced engineer to provide privacy guidance across various core applications like Wallet, Mail, and Safari. This role focuses on identifying privacy exposures, designing mitigations, and ensuring that user data is protected throughout the technology stack. The team collaborates with multiple departments to enhance products while maintaining industry-leading privacy standards. Successful candidates will have a passion for protecting user privacy and strong problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience with cryptography and its use for end-to-end encrypting data or anonymizing users
• Experience with differential privacy or private federated learning
• Programming experience
• Strong collaboration, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to learn and research new technologies rapidly
• Ability to analyze systems' architectures for privacy impact
• Ability to solve complex problems independently

• Review features to identify privacy exposures and partner with teams to design mitigations.
• Audit new products to identify bugs in development and review customer data collected by engineering teams to drive decisions for privacy impact.
• Communicate privacy risks and potential mitigations to senior leadership to drive decisions.
• Review data collection requests and systems that enable product improvement while preserving privacy.
• Partner with technical experts in web browsing and digital payments to build privacy-preserving features and technologies.
