This role is for a senior technical leader in SIML's Content Understanding teams, focusing on architecting and deploying production scale multimodal machine learning. The team aims to transform creative workflows and enhance user experiences through advanced Apple Intelligence technologies. Candidates will work closely with hardware engineering, design, and product teams to advance capabilities in personalized RAG workstreams and context efficiency. The position requires a strong foundation in machine learning and experience with large language models.

• PhD with 5+ years of experience or MS with equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience training and adapting large language models for downstream tasks.
• Modeling experience at the intersection of natural language processing and vision.
• Proficiency in a machine learning toolkit, such as PyTorch.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Proven track record of research contributions through publications or open source contributions.
• Experience with building and deploying multimodal large language models.
• Familiarity with distributed training and large-scale data infrastructure.
