The Principal Engineer for Content and Generative AI Exploration will work within the Search Platforms team at Google. This role focuses on leveraging AI technology to enhance content understanding and improve user experiences across Google surfaces. The engineer will be responsible for developing and deploying Generative AI technology, ensuring a consistent and proactive knowledge resource for users. This position offers the opportunity to impact billions of people globally by transforming the Search Content Platform.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on building technical products and services.
• 10 years of experience in developing and deploying models using deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in applying Generative AI and machine learning approaches to real-world content problems.

• Contribute significantly to the strategic roadmap of Search.
• Develop and deploy Generative AI technology to enhance content understanding and AI-generated content frameworks.
• Conduct applied research on new Generative AI techniques to explore new content experiences.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams to integrate new Generative AI technology into content products and services.
• Shape the technical roadmap for the next generation of the Search Content Platform.
