The Staff Hardware/Software Systems Architect role at Google focuses on developing custom silicon solutions that enhance the performance of Google's consumer products. As part of the Silicon System Architecture team, the architect will drive the hardware/software co-design of next-generation System on Chips (SoCs). This position requires deep expertise in system architecture and the ability to influence stakeholders while solving complex problems. The architect will work closely with various teams to create innovative hardware experiences that improve user interaction with technology.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience with Mobile/Embedded System on Chips (SoCs).
• Experience designing system architecture from a software perspective.
• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred.
• Expertise with Android architecture, Kernel, frameworks, and services.

• Guide strategic hardware decisions through deep-dive analysis of full-system workloads and first-party software stacks.
• Shape software architecture to unlock the full potential and specialized capabilities of custom silicon.
• Partner with Google Research, Pixel, and platform software teams to engineer category-defining features and user experiences.
• Architect end-to-end solutions that optimize for power, performance, and area (PPA) targets.
• Manage complex system-level bottlenecks by advocating bold, creative architectural approaches.
