Job description
Arcadis is seeking a Stormwater/Stream Restoration Engineer to join their Resilience Water Team in Virginia or Washington DC. The role involves collaborating with experienced water professionals to develop stream restoration and ecological enhancement projects. The engineer will lead project delivery from concept through construction while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Requirements
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in stream restoration, natural channel design, or related water resources engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Biological Systems, or a related field of study.
- Possession of either an EIT or PE license.
- Strong experience delivering stream restoration projects, including field assessments, design, permitting, and construction support.
- Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, design, permit, and manage stream restoration and watershed improvement projects.
- Lead tasks and support project delivery from concept through construction.
- Perform and coordinate field assessments, data collection, and analysis for stream restoration projects.
- Develop and support stream restoration design plans, including grading and stabilization measures.
- Prepare and review hydrologic and hydraulic models and support floodplain and channel stability analyses.
- Lead task-level project delivery, including developing scopes of work and managing budgets and schedules.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and support permitting efforts.
- Prepare reports, design documents, presentations, and other deliverables.
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and technical staff.
