The Principal Software Engineer role focuses on improving the install base health of strategic Windows commercial customers through hands-on technical engagement. As part of the Windows Commercial Acceleration Engine team, the engineer will work directly with enterprise customers to diagnose and resolve complex Windows device management challenges. This position requires deep technical expertise in areas such as Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot. The engineer will also collaborate with various teams to drive product improvements and create reusable solutions.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers to understand complex technical environments, diagnose problems, and implement or validate solutions.
• Technical experience with enterprise Windows device management, including areas such as Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and device provisioning.
• Experience troubleshooting complex device-management issues using data, logs, telemetry, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to communicate complex technical findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and executive audiences.

• Engage with customers to improve the install-base health of strategic Windows commercial customers through hands-on technical engagement.
• Rapidly understand complex device-management environments and establish a clear technical problem statement and remediation plan.
• Design and implement solutions with customers to modernize device management and resolve install base health challenges.
• Collaborate with Windows, Intune, and other product engineering teams to investigate complex cross-product issues.
• Identify patterns and convert customer solutions into reusable playbooks and technical guidance for broader enterprise customer benefit.
