Job description
The Structural Engineering Professional will be a key member of the design team, focusing on structural analysis and design for various projects. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with Structural Leads, Engineers, and Designers. The candidate should have a solid foundation in Structural Engineering principles and knowledge of US building codes. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer License (PE/PEng)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering
- Proficient with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
- Proficient with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam
- Proficient with designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design with little or no supervision.
- Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques.
- Exercise sound engineering judgment and problem-solving skills, seeking guidance when necessary.
- Possess strong knowledge of principles and practices of lateral analysis and design, including wind and seismic provisions.
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
- Check your own work and perform calculation checking of other engineers' work.
- Manage workload effectively, making and keeping commitments.
- Take complete ownership of your portion of the structural scope, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality requirements are met.
- Identify scope changes and escalate them to the Structural Lead or Project Manager.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to designers and less experienced engineers.
