GEICO is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Infrastructure Automation Tools team. This role focuses on driving the tech transformation towards engineering excellence and automation. The team is dedicated to creating resilient architectures and streamlining operations on the OpenStack private cloud. The engineer will work on automated tools and infrastructure as code to enhance the management of hardware and software systems.

• Professional development experience in one or more of Python, Go, Rust, or C.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform in an enterprise private cloud environment.
• Hands-on experience in OS and firmware management strategies in a private cloud environment.
• Understanding of OpenStack and proven success in elevating server fleet management and automation practices.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to integration details.

• Drive innovation of OS and firmware update strategies to ensure stability and security.
• Develop tools and processes for automated testing of servers and operating system images.
• Monitor server fleet health and performance, focusing on proactive maintenance.
• Devise and implement automation scripts and tools for fleet management tasks.
• Develop hardware lifecycle strategies from procurement to decommissioning.
