The Equities Technology team at Citi is undergoing a transformation to create a top-tier global platform for execution and trading processes. They are looking for a Smart Order Router (SOR) Developer at the VP level to enhance their low-latency execution platform. This role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of the Smart Order Router, utilizing modern Java and microservices architecture. The developer will work closely with engineers and business partners to innovate and improve trading capabilities.

• Hands-on experience in software development with a strong focus on high-performance, low-latency systems.
• Expert-level technical knowledge in Core Java, including understanding of JVM internals, concurrency, and memory management.
• Proven experience designing and developing automated trading systems, specifically with Smart Order Routers.
• Solid understanding of financial market protocols such as FIX and experience handling order and market datasets.
• Experience with microservices architecture and developing distributed systems.
• Demonstrable experience with modern testing frameworks, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD processes.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts.

• Take a leading role in the design, development, and optimization of high-performance, low-latency microservices.
• Implement and enhance complex routing logic and performance optimizations to ensure best execution.
• Participate in and lead technical design discussions and conduct rigorous code reviews.
• Partner with product development and quantitative researchers to deliver new trading capabilities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in testing frameworks and development tools.
• Resolve complex technical challenges through analysis of business requirements and industry best practices.
• Build and maintain robust solutions for trading platform monitoring and application recovery.
