This role requires collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure high-quality acoustic performance. The EPM will manage project definitions, schedules, and status updates while advocating for the best acoustic solutions. Success is measured by the quality and timeliness of pre-production builds and mass production starts.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Electrical Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of project management experience is required.
  • Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong cross-functional coordination and project management skills are necessary.
  • A strong technical background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, acoustics, and/or software development is required.
  • Experience in consumer hardware and software is necessary.
  • Experience with speakers, microphones, receivers, audio DSP, audio algorithms, and/or consumer/device software is a bonus.
  • An interest in audio is preferred.
  • MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee internal efforts of the Acoustics Hardware, Algorithms, User Interface, and Validation teams.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination with external partners within hardware and software engineering.
  • Define and drive the build and development plans for audio hardware and software.
  • Serve as the primary interface to Apple Acoustics during hardware and software development.
  • Manage and communicate project definitions, development landmarks, schedules, and project status.
  • Identify and resolve potential pitfalls to the schedule and risks to product quality.
  • Advocate for the best overall acoustic performance throughout the organization.
  • Prioritize issues and track details to ensure timely delivery of acoustic modules.
  • Facilitate risk management and communicate status and issues to the development team and Apple executives.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
