Amazon Web Services is seeking senior engineers to join the AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) team, which focuses on building high-performance virtualized storage solutions for EC2. The team is composed of experts in systems-level software, responsible for the design, implementation, and monitoring of one of the largest distributed storage systems globally. Engineers will work on reducing latency and improving performance while collaborating with various teams across AWS. • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Work with a high-performance C++ software stack to reduce latency measured at microsecond scale
• Design and solve for performance, availability, and scalability problems
• Develop software on the latest platforms and drive the roadmap for the next generation
• Collaborate with industry experts to solve challenging problems at scale
• Monitor and ensure the observability of the EBS system
