The role involves developing the hardware abstraction layer (HAL) for custom silicon chips used in AWS machine learning servers. Engineers will collaborate with hardware designers and system software teams to address architectural issues and innovate solutions. The position is part of the Annapurna Labs organization, which focuses on high-performance ML inference and training. Candidates will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the AWS infrastructure management software stack.

• Strong proficiency in C++ and familiarity with Python.
• Experience programming in languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.
• 2+ years of experience writing functional or performance models of hardware.
• Familiarity with SoC, CPU, GPU, and/or ASIC architecture and micro-architecture.
• 2+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
• Experience with SystemC or TLM-based modeling.
• Familiarity with modern C++ (20 and beyond).
• Experience with multi-threaded simulation.

• Work with hardware designers to build HALs for newly developed SoC IPs.
• Collaborate with system software teams to solve SoC and system-level architectural issues.
• Continuously test and deploy the software stack to multiple internal customers.
• Refactor and maintain existing codebases throughout the device lifecycle.
