The Policy & Access Control Engineering (PACE) team is seeking an experienced System Development Engineer to enhance network security solutions for Amazon fulfillment centers. This role focuses on managing Access Control Lists (ACLs) to ensure secure and efficient network traffic flow. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to align on security guidelines and best practices. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying technical debt and optimizing system performance.

• Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust
• Experience with Linux/Unix
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
• 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems
• Experience with distributed systems at scale
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience building services using AWS products

• Identify business problems, gather data, propose solutions, and lead implementation.
• Lead the development and maintenance of systems for generating and deploying ACLs information to network devices.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams to align on requirements and best practices for ACL management.
• Proactively identify and address technical debt and performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure robust monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting mechanisms are in place for ACL management systems.
• Exercise high judgment and scrutiny of requests to prevent unsupportable systems and security vulnerabilities.
• Design the complete solution stack and deliver through others.
