The Postgres team at Apple is seeking engineers to develop and contribute to PostgreSQL, the leading open source relational database. This role involves working on cloud-based relational database services that support critical workloads across various Apple sectors. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields with 5+ years of relevant work experience
• High level of proficiency in C, C++, and Rust
• Advanced understanding of data structures and algorithms in storage and indexing
• Demonstrated experience developing database systems and distributed systems
• Experience developing software in open source communities
• Knowledge of the internals of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields with 8+ years of relevant experience is preferred
• Expertise with code performance and optimization
• Expertise with relational database systems architecture
• Knowledge of Linux Kernel development

• Develop and operate Apple’s cloud-based relational database services hosting PostgreSQL databases
• Contribute to all major components of PostgreSQL, including query execution, storage, and replication
• Ensure high availability and scalability of database systems
• Engage in new feature development and reliable administration of databases
• Work collaboratively with a team of experts on modern database technologies and storage engineering
• Push the limits of open-source PostgreSQL to offer enterprise-class performance and durability
