The Principal Mainframe Software Engineer role at Fidelity Investments involves providing technical leadership within the Stock Plan Services Technology team. The team develops applications and supports a mainframe environment, utilizing technologies such as COBOL, DB2, and CICS.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field with 10+ years of experience in mainframe brokerage or stock plan services systems.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field with 6 years of experience in the job offered or as a technical lead.
• Demonstrated expertise in mainframe application development, automation, and support.
• Experience with COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ-Series, and SQL.

• Perform as a full stack engineer within an Agile team, including requirements gathering, development, and end-to-end testing.
• Define, develop, and lead an interactive team to implement application level architecture.
• Provide on-site and on-call support as needed and act as a subject matter expert.
• Develop applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
• Recommend development testing tools and methodologies and review test plans.
• Resolve technical roadblocks involving multiple technologies and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with management to share approaches and develop solutions.
• Lead collaborative sessions with stakeholders and provide guidance to team members.
• Ensure QA readiness of software deliverables and plan system testing.
