Job description

NVIDIA is seeking systems software engineers to enhance the CUDA driver and runtime, focusing on performance-centric features and optimizations. The role involves working at the intersection of software and hardware to improve AI tools and systems efficiency. Engineers will have the opportunity to influence future CUDA capabilities and GPU architectures. This position offers a chance to lead complex feature development and mentor other engineers while contributing to the advancement of AI and accelerated computing.

Requirements

  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of relevant systems-software development experience.
  • Strong production C/C++ systems-programming experience.
  • Strong foundations in operating systems and concurrency.
  • Strong foundations in computer architecture.
  • Demonstrated success in improving real software performance.
  • Sound technical judgment and clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, validate, and ship performance-centric features in the CUDA driver and runtime.
  • Optimize critical execution paths for latency, throughput, and efficiency.
  • Own complex performance problems end-to-end and implement production solutions.
  • Establish performance expectations for current and future platforms.
  • Translate workload evidence into CUDA API improvements and systems-software direction.
  • Partner with various teams to communicate findings and raise engineering quality.
  • Lead complex feature development and define performance requirements for subsystems.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
