As a Controls Design Engineer at AWS, you will be part of a global engineering team focused on the implementation and technical evaluation of data center design standards, particularly in control, automation, and electrical power monitoring systems. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to drive standardization across production data centers while addressing technical challenges. This role emphasizes innovation and the development of strategic solutions that meet quality and budgetary requirements. You will also provide technical guidance and contribute to the design of data center facilities.

• 4+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment.
• 3+ years of experience working with electrical diagrams, single line diagrams, and electrical distribution systems.
• 3+ years of experience working with industrial controls systems.
• Experience with power monitoring and SCADA systems.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or 4+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
• Experience working with electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS), including platforms such as Eaton Foreseer, Ignition, and Schneider PSO/PME.
• Familiarity with utility disturbance monitoring, power quality analysis, and event capture.
• Knowledge of data center facilities infrastructure and operations.

• Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications, drawings, and reports.
• Understand and safeguard the implementation of the Global Controls Basis of Design by driving standardization in data center controls designs.
• Develop strategic solutions that meet or exceed quality requirements and fall within budgetary constraints.
• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests during innovation and research projects.
• Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.
