The Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer role focuses on enhancing supplier quality practices within Amazon's Robotics Deployment and Packaging Innovation Design for Scale organization. The position requires a proactive approach to drive change at suppliers and improve key business processes. Candidates will work in a dynamic environment, implementing systems to optimize product development and sustaining operations. This role emphasizes collaboration and the development of strategies to ensure high-quality supplier engagement.

• BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in Supplier Quality.
• Experience with quality concepts/tools/methods such as 8D, DOE, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Measurement Systems Analysis.
• Demonstrated experience implementing quality engineering principles through development and NPI programs.
• Functional knowledge of industry standards such as ISO9001 or AS9100.
• Engineering or Business Master’s degree is preferred.
• ASQ Certification and PMP Certification are advantageous.
• Understanding of Statistical Process Controls and part measurement/qualification practices.

• Develop strategy and support supplier product qualification best practices.
• Engage actively in the Product Development Process (PDP).
• Develop, review, and approve qualification documents such as product dimensional data, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and DFM.
• Support hardware development and implementation processes of custom automation to reduce product cost and risk.
• Scale supplier process and quality systems to reduce observed field defect rates.
• Lead Surveillance and Process Audits to ensure adherence to specifications and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Drive internal and external CAPAs, improvement, and design change opportunities.
• Solve and prevent technical product and process problems across a broad set of manufacturing commodities.
• Identify failure trends and drive investigation, failure analysis, and remediation.
• Support and coordinate supplier change requests.
• Define and implement Supplier selection, approval, and development processes and strategies.
• Conduct pre-business award Scalability Assessments and subsequent sourcing selection initiatives.
• Guide and drive best practice supplier management activities.
