Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the AWS Networking organization to design and develop software and services for configuring and automating networking devices. The role requires a highly autonomous individual with strong communication skills and significant experience working at scale. The team collaborates with various engineering roles to ensure scalable designs and maintain customer focus. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging problems while contributing to the operation of AWS global infrastructure.

• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems with a focus on reliability and scaling.
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

• Operate autonomously and deliver projects with team or cross-team scope.
• Drive designs for components and services that deliver new features and capabilities.
• Prepare estimates for upcoming deliverables and document proposed solutions.
• Review code of other team members and write well-structured and optimized code.
• Perform root cause analysis on operational events and provide project updates to leadership.
