The Senior Security Engineer role at DeepMind focuses on securing the core serving infrastructure and platform layer of GDM's products. The position is part of the GDM Product Security Team, which ensures the security and reliability of frontier AI platforms. The engineer will work on evaluating and hardening serving components while bridging product development with Google's security functions. This role requires a strong background in security operations and a proactive approach to maintaining a secure environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in security engineering, platform security, infrastructure hardening, network protocols, or systems security architecture.
• 5 years of experience in security operations, including operational security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability triage, and threat hunting.
• 5 years of coding experience in one or more systems programming languages such as C or C++.

• Evaluate and harden GDM’s core serving infrastructure and inference pipelines.
• Develop and maintain threat models covering GDM serving layers and inference workloads.
• Model attack vectors unique to frontier AI, including prompt injection mitigation and API surface security.
• Build secure-by-default libraries, reference architectures, and deployment templates for GDM’s deployment pipelines.
• Participate in the team's operational security rotation.
