The Electronic Systems Engineer – Software will join the engineering team at Cummins in Columbus, IN, focusing on enhancing software quality and reliability. This role involves collaborating with product and software development teams to deliver high-quality software features and releases. The engineer will influence software architecture and design decisions while leading the resolution of complex technical challenges. • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant STEM field is required.
• 2-3 years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in the automotive, industrial, or embedded systems domain.
• Strong programming skills in C; knowledge of C++ is an advantage.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS or AUTOSAR OS.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, UART, and Ethernet is preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434) is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
