The Principal Software Engineer will be part of the Maia Model Enablement team, focusing on the technical work needed to integrate AI models with Microsoft's AI accelerators. This role involves defining technical strategies and solving complex challenges at the intersection of AI models, software, and hardware. The successful candidate will leverage deep technical expertise and systems thinking to drive improvements in model enablement. The position emphasizes collaboration across teams to deliver impactful solutions that enhance performance and scalability.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C++ or Python.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
• Understanding of modern AI model architectures and performance optimization.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex problems across models, software, systems, infrastructure, and hardware.
• Experience enabling software on new hardware platforms or large-scale systems.
• Demonstrated ability to identify high-impact technical investments and drive them from concept through production.
• Technical judgment and experience leading cross-team technical initiatives.

• Define and drive the technical strategy required to enable new AI models and hardware generations.
• Lead complex cross-stack investigations spanning models, serving systems, infrastructure, and hardware.
• Drive platform-wide improvements in performance, scalability, and serving capabilities.
• Create durable automation, validation, and engineering systems to improve model enablement.
• Align model, software, infrastructure, and hardware teams around shared technical direction.
