Job description
Arcadis is seeking a field-focused construction professional to manage complex infrastructure and transportation projects. The role involves overseeing project scope, schedule, and contractor procedures to ensure successful project delivery. The Construction Manager will work closely with the Resident Engineer and various stakeholders, including JFK Airport personnel, to minimize operational impacts. This position requires a strong understanding of construction management practices and the ability to mentor field staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of ten years of experience managing construction projects of varying size and complexity.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a JFK Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification required.
- Proficiency with eBuilder and Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities
- Act as the day-to-day Construction Manager for assigned projects.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in coordinating with JFK Airport Facility and other stakeholders.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the contract documents and assist in interpreting contract provisions.
- Advise the Resident Engineer on contractor disputes and assist in resolving issues.
- Supervise and mentor field staff to ensure effective monitoring of construction activities.
- Review contractor submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) for compliance.
- Track classified work items and maintain proper documentation.
- Prepare Extra Work Orders and associated cost estimates.
- Review contractor payment applications for accuracy and compliance.
