Citi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable applications that impact millions of clients globally. This role involves making critical engineering decisions and shaping the architecture of digital products within a large financial institution. The engineer will work on mid-to-large scale projects, focusing on enhancing Citi's AI and digital capabilities. • Five or more years of engineering experience building high-performance, large-scale distributed systems in a production environment.
• Fluency in Java, Python, or both, applied to deliver scalable backend services and APIs.
• Hands-on experience building UI components using React JS or Streamlit.
• Practical knowledge of backend frameworks such as Spring or Flask.
• Proficiency with relational and document databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement REST or WebSocket APIs.
• Working knowledge of messaging and event streaming platforms such as Kafka or JMS/MQ.
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration and infrastructure tooling including Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm.

• Design and build end-to-end software solutions that are robust and scalable.
• Lead engineering decisions on complex, large-scale distributed systems.
• Develop foundational components and production-grade capabilities in Artificial Intelligence.
• Drive the integration and enterprise-wide adoption of Generative AI solutions.
• Iterate quickly and pragmatically, prioritizing working software and rapid feedback.
• Champion lean engineering practices through pair programming and streamlined workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate technical challenges into deliverable outcomes.
