Citi is seeking a Senior Java Architect to lead the design and engineering of enterprise-scale data platforms that enhance analytics and data visualization. This role involves defining the architectural vision for Java-based data infrastructure and guiding a team of data engineers. The position focuses on building high-performance distributed data pipelines and optimizing data storage across various environments. It offers an opportunity to influence Citi's data engineering capabilities at a global scale.

• Expert-level proficiency in Java, including deep knowledge of the Spring Framework and microservices architecture design patterns.
• Hands-on experience building and scaling high-volume distributed data lakes.
• Deep expertise in big data frameworks including Apache Iceberg and Startree/Apache Pinot.
• Practical experience with real-time data streaming technologies, specifically Apache Kafka and Apache Flink.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering or software engineering, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Define and evolve the technical architecture and roadmap for Citi's enterprise data lake and analytics platform.
• Design and develop high-performance, scalable, and secure microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Build and maintain high-scale batch and real-time streaming data pipelines using various technologies.
• Optimize data storage and query performance across enterprise data lakes and lakehouses.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Researchers, and business leaders to translate analytical requirements.
• Evaluate and prototype emerging data technologies and frameworks.
