We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in observability, AIOps, and Java/Python application engineering to enhance our Operating Model AI strategy. The role involves transitioning to a predictive, AI-driven operational framework and requires hands-on involvement in designing and implementing production-grade applications. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to integrate AI/ML capabilities and standardize telemetry across our systems. This position offers an opportunity to influence how Citi operates and automates on a global scale.

• 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Proven Java development skills with frameworks like Spring Boot
• Practical Python experience for application development and automation
• Demonstrated expertise in OpenTelemetry for standardizing metrics and logs
• Exposure to tools like BigPanda for alert correlation and automated remediation
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Observability tools
• Strong understanding of SRE principles including SLIs and SLOs
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into operational workflows
• Solid grasp of RESTful API design and integration with monitoring tools
• Strong version control and CI/CD experience
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Design, develop, and deploy Java and Python applications across microservices architectures
• Standardize telemetry across applications using OpenTelemetry
• Advance AIOps capabilities by leveraging BigPanda for operational alerts
• Utilize Google Cloud Observability tooling for cloud-native monitoring
• Integrate AI/ML into observability and automation pipelines
• Analyze operational data to identify automation opportunities
• Define and own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets with reliability teams
• Partner with AI/ML and architecture teams to deploy scalable solutions
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for observability and AIOps
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle
• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues
• Stay updated on emerging practices in observability and AIOps
