Job description
This role at Apple focuses on timing closure for ASIC chips in deep sub-micron processes, specifically within the System-on-Chip (SoC) design team. The position requires collaboration with various cross-functional teams to resolve complex timing issues and develop timing constraints for high-end mobile applications. The role emphasizes ownership of full chip and block level timing closure throughout the project cycle, from RTL to physical implementation. Candidates will also be involved in developing methodologies and flows related to timing verification and closure.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with digital electronic circuits, including combinational and sequential logic gates.
- Understanding of analog electronic circuits and their impact on chip timing.
- Familiarity with computer systems and architecture, particularly in relation to static timing analysis.
- Proficiency in RTL programming languages such as Verilog or VHDL.
- Experience with programming languages such as C/C++ or Python for automation tasks.
Responsibilities
- Work on timing closure aspects of ASIC chips in deep sub-micron processes.
- Develop and enhance timing constraints for complex, multi-clock, and multi-voltage SoCs.
- Create timing constraint and coverage analysis scripts and checks.
- Own full chip and block level timing closure throughout the entire project cycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex timing issues.
- Develop and maintain methodologies and flows related to timing verification and closure.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
