The Senior Security Engineer role within AWS Forward Deployed Engineering focuses on embedding security expertise directly with delivery teams to ensure the security of production AI systems. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities and implementing security controls while maintaining rapid delivery timelines. The team is dedicated to building scalable AI solutions for enterprise customers, emphasizing a culture of engineering excellence and customer obsession. Candidates must be US citizens and are expected to travel up to 25% for customer engagements.

• 5+ years of experience in application security frameworks, identity and access controls, incident response, mobile security, cloud computing and security, AI security, threat intelligence, and penetration testing.
• 5+ years of experience in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
• 4+ years of experience in scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages.
• Knowledge of at least two programming languages such as Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience with threat modeling and penetration testing, or strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• Experience with security in service-oriented architectures/microservices and web services.
• US government security clearance of top secret or above, or 7+ years of IT platform implementation in a technical and analytical role.
• Experience with compliance and security standards including PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST.
• Experience with AWS technologies.

• Conduct security design reviews, threat modeling, and architecture assessments for production AI systems.
• Embed with FDE delivery teams in customer environments to assess infrastructure security posture and implement controls.
• Build security automation and tooling for forward-deployed AI systems.
• Implement controls for AI-specific threats such as prompt injection and model endpoint hardening.
• Integrate security into FDE engineering workflows including CI/CD security gates and secrets management.
• Triage and respond to security incidents in production AI systems and build monitoring for AI-specific security signals.
• Document solutions as reusable patterns, playbooks, and architectural guidance.
