The Senior Security Engineer role within AWS Forward Deployed Engineering focuses on embedding security practices into production AI systems for enterprise customers. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks while maintaining delivery speed. The team is dedicated to building scalable AI solutions and ensuring compliance with security standards. Candidates must be US Citizens and are expected to travel up to 25% of the time.

• 5+ years of experience in application security frameworks, identity and access controls, incident response, mobile security, cloud computing and security, AI security, threat intelligence, and penetration testing.
• 5+ years of experience in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
• 4+ years of experience in scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages.
• Knowledge of at least two programming languages such as Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience with threat modeling and penetration testing, or strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• Experience with security in service-oriented architectures/microservices and web services.
• US government security clearance of top secret or above, or 7+ years of IT platform implementation in a technical and analytical role.
• Experience with compliance and security standards including PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST.
• Experience with AWS technologies.

• Conduct security design reviews, threat modeling, and architecture assessments for production AI systems.
• Embed with FDE delivery teams in customer environments to assess infrastructure security posture and implement controls.
• Build security automation and tooling for forward-deployed AI systems.
• Implement controls for AI-specific threats such as prompt injection and model endpoint hardening.
• Integrate security into FDE engineering workflows including CI/CD security gates and secrets management.
• Triage and respond to security incidents in production AI systems.
• Document solutions as reusable patterns, playbooks, and architectural guidance.
