This role at Apple involves supporting system-level SerDes compliance and high-speed IO validation efforts for Mac programs. The position requires collaboration with hardware and system teams to address silicon and hardware issues, particularly focusing on USB-C interfaces. The team is dedicated to ensuring the robustness of platform-level integration through rigorous validation processes. Candidates will engage in both hardware-level validation and simulation efforts to correlate with hardware outcomes.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- 3 years of experience utilizing high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and VNA/PNA for signal integrity analysis.
- 3 years of experience with Thunderbolt and USB4 electrical compliance test specifications.
- 3 years of experience designing and implementing stress testing methodologies for high-speed serial I/O interfaces.
- 3 years of experience executing SerDes receiver electrical validation.
- 3 years of experience utilizing Python and C++ for automation scripting.
- 3 years of experience performing failure analysis and hardware debugging.
- 3 years of experience executing SerDes transmitter electrical validation.
- 3 years of experience characterizing SerDes PHY receiver and transmitter blocks.
Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end compliance process for all portable and desktop programs.
- Contribute to flow bring, validation, and correlation efforts.
- Perform debugging in collaboration with hardware and system teams.
- Conduct PHY adaptation validation with various channel scenarios.
- Execute hardware-level validation and simulation efforts.
- Utilize advanced high-speed probing techniques for measurement.
- Perform high-speed electrical calibration and verification of test equipment.
