The Regional Environmental Engineer (REE) at AWS is responsible for ensuring environmental compliance at operating data centers in West Texas. This role involves developing standards and policies to support regulatory compliance and guiding teams in implementing Amazon's environmental standards. The REE will collaborate with internal and external partners to foster an environmentally responsible culture and manage compliance with environmental regulations. The position requires travel throughout the state and the US.

• 5+ years of experience as an environmental compliance specialist
• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations
• Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
• Experience in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, service operations, or related fields
• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
• Experience in projects in Texas or other Southern States

• Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards
• Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement
• Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately
• Assist in time-critical compliance report submission to various governmental agencies
• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action
