Job description
The Customer Engineer for the Federal Civilian sector at Google Public Sector will work closely with technical sales teams to promote Google Cloud solutions to government and educational institutions. This role focuses on understanding customer needs and delivering tailored cloud solutions to enhance productivity and collaboration. The engineer will leverage their expertise to troubleshoot technical issues and engage with stakeholders at various levels. The position emphasizes building strong relationships with clients and facilitating their digital transformation journeys.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience with designing cloud-native enterprise-grade technical architecture in customer-facing or support roles.
- Experience designing, managing, and operating high performance computing systems, including experience with MPI workloads, low latency networking, and parallel file systems.
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of an account team to identify and qualify business opportunities and resolve technical blockers.
- Share in-depth Google Cloud expertise to support the technical relationship with customers.
- Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer environments.
- Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure for successful implementation on Google Cloud.
- Lead prospecting and acquisition of new customers, establishing trusted advisor relationships.
