Rivian is seeking an AI Engineer to enhance the efficiency and quality of its Product Development organization. This role involves implementing scalable AI tools and working at the intersection of product development, software engineering, and data science. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with senior technical staff to automate workflows and build predictive models. The focus is on developing intelligent systems that support the creation of electric vehicles.

• Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field.
• 4-6+ years of experience building production data pipelines and developing AI/ML solutions, preferably with LLM-based applications.
• Proficiency in agentic programming, including repository context engineering and AI-native IDEs.
• Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration and application concepts, including RAG and agentic frameworks.
• Deep understanding of probabilistic testing and evaluation engineering.

• Partner with senior technical staff to build and orchestrate agentic AI workflows and LLM-powered systems.
• Develop, validate, and maintain ETL pipelines and data structures for AI applications.
• Lead rapid technical trials to evaluate emerging AI techniques.
• Transform early-stage prototypes into robust and scalable enterprise systems.
• Define and monitor quantitative performance requirements for AI tools.
