Job description
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of changes to manufacturing equipment and systems in Jamestown, NY. This role focuses on optimizing complex assembly and machining processes, particularly with CNC metal cutting and processing equipment. The engineer will serve as a technical anchor for the plant, addressing high-impact production issues and mentoring team members. Success in this position requires balancing immediate production needs with long-term strategic goals while enhancing safety, quality, and efficiency.
Requirements
- A relevant technical degree in engineering such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly engineering.
- Proven track record of process improvement and capital spend experience.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing process projects end to end, ensuring all safety requirements and manufacturing goals are met.
- Drive equipment and capital procurement decisions that align with manufacturing specifications.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies to reduce process costs and improve quality.
- Establish and advance manufacturing standards and documented procedures.
- Resolve high-impact production issues through systematic root cause analysis.
- Influence key stakeholders to align project scope and production scheduling.
- Introduce advanced manufacturing technologies to enable data-driven decisions.
- Mentor engineers and technicians to strengthen technical depth across the team.
