Job description

As a Mechanical Engineer at Jacobs, you will play a crucial role in designing and delivering critical facility systems that ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable operations for clients. Based in either Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, you will work within a collaborative team environment, contributing to complex infrastructure and advanced manufacturing projects. This position offers the opportunity to learn from experienced leaders while making a meaningful impact on various engineering projects. You will be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from planning through startup and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • At least 4 years of mechanical engineering design or consulting experience
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Demonstrated ability to develop design calculations, construction drawings, and technical specifications
  • Experience using 3D modeling software such as Revit or AutoCAD

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical engineering designs, calculations, construction drawings, and specifications for complex facility projects
  • Design and support HVAC, cleanroom, chilled water, heating water, and process exhaust systems
  • Deliver engineering work in alignment with project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs
  • Support engineering evaluations, recommendations, and technical documentation
  • Provide on-site assistance during system startup, commissioning, and project implementation activities
  • Collaborate with clients and project stakeholders to understand project objectives and technical requirements
  • Apply engineering standards, codes, and best practices throughout project execution
