The Site Reliability Engineer role at IBM is an entry-level position focused on supporting mission-critical z/OS environments. As part of the IBM Z Development & Infrastructure Hosting team, you will assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM Z infrastructure. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Basic understanding of operating systems, networking, and enterprise computing concepts.
• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as REXX, Python, Java, C/C++, or similar.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn emerging technologies and enterprise infrastructure platforms.

• Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of IBM Z infrastructure.
• Support z/OS operating system maintenance activities, including upgrades, service implementation, and testing.
• Monitor system performance and availability to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
• Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management activities.
• Support storage, networking, security, and middleware teams in maintaining a stable IBM Z environment.
• Develop automation and operational efficiencies using scripting and IBM tools.
• Assist in system documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.
• Participate in infrastructure projects involving modernization, automation, and platform enhancements.
• Collaborate with development, engineering, and operations teams across IBM.
• Learn and apply IBM Z technologies through mentoring, training, and hands-on experience.
