The role is for an experienced Hardware Design Engineer on the AWS Hardware Engineering team, focusing on the integration and operations of next-generation storage solutions. The team is responsible for designing and building high-quality server systems and components that support AWS's massive scale. Engineers will collaborate with software teams to optimize SSD performance and health while ensuring operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative technologies that directly impact AWS customers.

• 5+ years of hardware design and validation experience with components, subsystems, and systems.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, debugging, and resolution of issues on storage systems in a Linux environment.
• Proficient coding, scripting, and debugging abilities in a Linux environment.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
• Expertise in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity.
• Experience in developing technical documentation such as functional specifications and design verification plans.

• Design and build infrastructure to operate storage platforms at massive scale.
• Lead the integration and delivery of SSD from OEM suppliers.
• Support the development of automated monitoring and failure analysis services.
• Collaborate with software engineers to optimize SSD performance and health at scale.
• Drive operational excellence by building software services for faster detection and prevention of issues.
• Lead the rollout of new drives for new and existing platforms.
