The Sr. Software Development Engineer will join the Global Optimization engineering team at Amazon Ads, focusing on revolutionizing advertising technology through generative AI. The team is dedicated to building scalable, low-latency systems that enhance the advertising experience for millions of customers and advertisers worldwide. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and entrepreneurial drive to navigate complex challenges in a fast-paced environment. The engineer will work closely with scientists and product leaders to translate business problems into effective technical solutions.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Design and build distributed systems that serve millions of advertisers across global marketplaces.
• Partner with Applied Scientists to bring generative AI models from prototype to production.
• Help reimagine the advertising technology stack for international markets.
• Establish best practices for reliability, observability, and deployment of systems.
• Mentor engineers across the team and lead design reviews.
