The Network Development Engineer role within the AWS Core Networking team focuses on building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks across global datacenters. This position involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the stability and sustainability of next-generation IP networks. The team is dedicated to delivering efficient and reliable network solutions that support AWS customers and services. The role requires a strong background in network operations and systems engineering to drive innovation and optimize network performance.

• 3+ years of automation scripting experience using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl
• 8+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols
• 5+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
• Bachelor's degree or above in computer science or equivalent

• Perform high quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, and scaling.
• Create and implement changes on the network.
• Lead network projects in areas such as network deployment, scaling, and optimization.
• Sustain AWS next generation networks by providing critical network support.
• Operate and troubleshoot network routing and performance issues.
• Drive and support innovation across the network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering teams for smooth roll-out of new designs.
• Maintain compliance with networking standards and policies.
• Create and review documentation regarding network implementations and procedures.
